I don't need smart televisions, and I hate reflective surfaces. Anyone know of a 55+ Inch Plasma Tele that fits the bill?

If your room is bright and you are concerned about reflection (never witnessed this on an internal TV is positioned well) then a LCD or LED is best, if the opposite then Plasma. As for smart TV, its an included feature and does not really affect the price so why not get it you may like it.

I've looked at a plasma, then found a non-smart version same size and brand, and it cost ~400 USD less. So not true about the price thing. (As the non-smart has no Wi-Fi, no Ethernet.) I'd get LED, but it'd take me two whole months more to save for it, as they cost roughly 400~600 USD more than the Plasmas for the same size, plus Plasmas have better blacks.

I was not misleading re the price. Here it makes little to no difference and besides the price is very very negotiable, retailers are desperate to sell these things.Market reporting indicates it is the same in the US.

The latest LED's have caught up with the rendering of blacks, especially LG and Sony.

Have an LED SONY you'd recommend? Because this one has very light black levels: https://www.decide.com/p/tvs-sony-kdl-55hx750-sony-bravia-kdl-55--led-32579947 And the KDL55EX640 has no reviews.

I don't want to ship it either, so I'd rather get it in-store at Best Buy, American TV, etc.

It's horses for courses, if you have a bright room you will be very disappointed with a Plasma unit.

If you are connecting peripherals such as Game Consoles, PC's etc again you will be disappointed with a Plasma unit.

If you have a darker room and not connecting those peripherals then Plasma is fine.

I have a Plasma and a LED TV, one lounge is bright due to the amount of windows, the other lounge is darker, I have tried both sets in both rooms and can verify that the Plasma is best in the dark room and the LED is best in the bright room.

0:42 sec on the video, glossy screen. No thanks. Has to be matte.

Some Sony Smart TVs are actually based on Linux! Once saw one and it even came with a GPL notice :D
