JabRef path not working in Ubuntu

Hi all,

I installed the JabRef in my Ubuntu 12.04 but the path is not working. When I pressed the icon at Office>JabRef didn't open it.
Also I tried to open it directly from a file and again nothing happened. Any idea how to solve it ?

How did you install it? From Synaptic? Did you click on the jabref.jar ?
I am also having some odd things with jabref 2.8.
