Is there a bittorrent alternate install for 64 bit ubuntu? I am getting a new laptop today with an intel CPU. The only two download links I see in the bittorrent section are:
ubuntu-12.04-alternate-i386.iso.torrent
and
ubuntu-12.04-desktop-i386.iso.torrent.
Both of these are desktop versions, but I don't know which is 64 bit.
It's on the alternative downloads (http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop/alternative-downloads) page.

Scroll down the page and look for ubuntu-12.04-alternate-amd64.iso.torrent

http://releases.ubuntu.com/precise/

(it's actually towards the top of the links list)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the amd64 downloads were for AMD processors, while the i386 downloads were for Intel processors.

Just use one of the torrent downloaders on the Ubuntu Software Centre. If thats too difficult then install Wine and then download Bittorrent. I have done this because when i had Ubuntu and Windows dual booting i used Bittorrent to download to my windows partition. But you can use Bittorrent on Ubuntu installed on wine just like you can on windows. But before use you have to choose your output (finished downloads ) folder before you use it because it will think your pc is windows and try to download to a nonexistant folder.

Negative. AMD 64bit for ALL 64bit processors. i386 for ALL 32bit processors. ;)
