At some point in the past couple of weeks the option to change wallpaper scaling in system settings mas mysteriously disappeared.
I'm running 12.04 with all updates (including anything from -proposed) applied and a few PPAs but none which would affect any Unity component.
What on earth could have happened?

Not all photos support the scaling . If you change the background to a picture that supports scaling the option will appear.

Thanks, but that's not the issue. If I select the same wallpaper (say, the Ubuntu default) on both my desktop and netbook (identical PPAs and update channels) the netbook will show scaling options.

I have the same problem... Anybody knows why the scaling option is gone?

The scaling option appears when I use wallpapers from my pictures folder but not when I select a Ubuntu default wallpaper. I don't know if this is related to monitor size or not. I most often use my own images so I hadn't noticed this previously.
