View Full Version : [gnome] Gnome 3 Only Showing 1/4th of Screen

Just installed Gnome 3 and when I log in I can only see less than 1/4th of my screen how can I fix this. Tried installing and uninstalling.

Hello and Welcome

Some information about your computer may be helpful . If you can run Unity you should be able to run the Gnome. If you are running the Gnome Shell you can try to reset with Alt + F2 and enter the following in the command prompt.

Tried to reset gnome but was unsuccessful. The full screen shows for about half a second then goes back to only showing 1/4th.

Try a different themes combined with the r command to eliminate that possibility. you should have no problems with your hardware. You could also try the purge command and reinstall in case the profile was corrupted in the initial installation .
sudo apt-get remove --purge gnome-shell

Just tried that for the third time and same results.
