I am planning to install ubuntu 12.04 on my dell laptop (Inspiron N5110, 640GB HD, 6GB RAM) in a dual-boot setup with Windows 7, the latter of which is already installed. I did this some years back with Ubuntu 8.04, and later 10.04, with a laptop that had Windows Vista installed on it. This, however, is my first time attempting this with a Windows 7 computer. Can anyone out there who has installed dual-boot setups on both Vista and Windows 7 tell me if there is much difference in the process between doing this with the two versions of Windows? I gather that there is not much difference, from what I have read in the little research I have done on lifehacker and the official ubuntu help site, but would appreciate any first-hand experiences if folks would be willing to share them.

I've seen no difference.
Just focus not to overwrite the ntfs partition with linux ;)
