Besides ubuntuforums, I don't check many linux-related websites (distrowatch and very few others).

I'm looking for something resembling a classic magazine (i.e. software reviews, general news, user testimonials). Any suggestion?

Some things I personally read:
TUX Magazine (http://www.tuxmagazine.com/) (free subscription)
Free Software Magazine (http://www.freesoftwaremagazine.com/) (free, but focuses more on Free Software rather than just Linux)
LWN (LInux Weekly News) (http://lwn.net/) (only back issues/articles are free)

News feeds I'm subscribed to:
Linux.com (http://www.linux.com/)
Linux-Watch (http://www.linux-watch.com/news/index.html)
DesktopLinux (http://www.desktoplinux.com/)
LinuxDevices[/url
[url=http://lxer.com/]LXer Linux News (http://www.linuxdevices.com/)
Groklaw (http://www.groklaw.net/)

There are a lot more out there, probably. These are just a few of the ones I've chosen.

http://slashdot.org
Reading slashdot is like holding a leash of a large, excited dog. This is because news stories come and go so fast. It posts short summaries of articles and links to them. The real treasure is user-made comments; there are some clueless people, of course, but among several hundreds of comments its very easy to find real gems. Traffic here is very high, and it's often enough to link to a page at slashdot to put heavy strain on other server, occasionally bringing it down.
As some people will point out, slashdot is not without its faults, but it's still a great site.

http://digg.com
A suplement to slashdot. Can't say too much about it, because I rarely visit it. Both sites have ther pros and cons. Digg prides itself to be community driven, but one thing that turns me off is that it has merely dozens of comments on each story, instead of hundreds (slashdot).

http://happypenguin.org
Probably the best news site about linux games.

http://www.phoronix.com/
high end hardware/linux games type of news site.

http://freshmeat.net/
About new software/new wersions etc.

Planet GNOME (http://planet.gnome.org/)
Planet Ubuntu (http://planet.ubuntulinux.org/)
Planet KDE (http://planetkde.org/)
Probably other interesting Planets - a list at Planet Planet (http://www.planetplanet.org/).

thanks everybody!

I didn't know most of the sites you suggested, except for digg and slashdot.

I'll check them out, but it would be nice to have more suggestions - we could end up creating a nice database of linux-related links.

Apart from /. and some german news sites I'll usually also have a look at Lxer (http://lxer.com)
