Python, Ubuntu OS releases & Gourmet Recipe Manager

With each new 6 month release of an updated UbuntuOS, my Gourmet Recipe Manager (GRM) software gets harmed. The Python section (is it a section? I'm an end-user not a programmer) gets smashed and my favorite software app won't function. This time, in Precise Pangolin, it's the GRM search function.

I've spoken with the Gourmet developer. He has nothing to do with the "packaging", so he cannot help.

Who can I send a request to? Anybody got a clue?
