I have been serching the forums, dident find what i was looking for.

How do i change an icon of a program, Minecraft has an generic .jar icon how do i change to give it an minecraft icon?

Create a launcher to the binary, then right click on the launcher, select properties and click on the icon image.

well i am new to Ubuntu and linux base os, how do i create a launcher?

Go to main menu and add item to whichever menu you want then browse to the app and click on the icon box and browse to the icon you want

If you cant't find the main menu in dash which is not installed by default on a unity only system, install the following and search again.
sudo apt-get install alacarte
