I'm trying to install lubuntu 12.04 32 bit version on my old desktop.

Specs:
CPU: AMD Athlon 1.1GHz
RAM: 768 MB
GPU: All in wonder 9600 series 128 MB
HD: 120 GB

When I used the standard install, I burned to a DVD and booted from disc. The installer goes all the way, past the slide show, until it shows a black screen with text. The last line of text is this: stopping cpu interrupts balancing daemon [OK].

I tried using the alternate installer, but I couldn't get past the DHCP setup, even if I plugged in my ethernet cord or selected do not install network.

I tried using the standard installer and ignoring the internet part for now and it hangs up on this part: stopping enable remaining boot-time encryption block devices [OK]

Can someone help me?

I managed to fix this by using the alternate installation and when I was prompted for the networking, I pressed the esc key and went to the next step.
