View Full Version : [xubuntu] Java not working in Firefox

I have Java7 runtime and the Icedtea Browser plugin installed but I can't get Java to work. Help!

Does it not work with any web applets or does it work with some?

Are you using firefox?

Do both java and icetea show up in the plugins section?

if so disable one or the other, sometimes I have issues as well if both of them are on at the same time.

Only the IcedTea plugin is showing up there.

How did you install Java in the first place?

This is a great guide on how to install Java in Ubuntu 12.04.

After using this guide I was able to see the Java Plugin in Firefox. Maybe you could try that.

From past experience, many java applets work a lot better when you are using the actual Java plugin and not IcedTea.
