After pressing the physical power button on my computer I am shown a 60 second countdown dialog box:

"This system will be automatically shutdown in 60 seconds"

How can I remove it the 60 second timer or reduce it to 0 or 1 second?

thank you

In the dialog box just click on the word Shutdown.

what you are wanting to do is remove the prompt feature, which asks if you really want to shut down? the app ubuntu tweak has such an option. http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/linux/Ubuntu-Tweak-Review-273016.shtmlsp (http://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news2/Ubuntu-Tweak-0-7-1-Review-4.jpg)
