Hi Guys.
I am trying to return to Linux on my laptop, I dont really use it often but going off windows again.
I have a copy of 12.04 and 10.04 but.....
12.04 gets loops between the purple screen and a screen with a _ flashing then back to the purple screen. When I go to the graphic interphase and use F6 to nomodeset mode doesn't make a differnece and when I turn acpi=off still the same.
10.04 gets stuck on the "loading casper initrd iz ready screen.
I have tried both 64 bit and 32 bit options for 12.04 as my laptop is 64 bit but still no joy. I have re-downloaded the both options and re burnt them as slow speeds (10x is slowest i got)
I also get "cannot extract/unpack Wubi.exe" when load disc in Windows 7....
I have also downloaded and burnt a copy of Fedora and this did not work either again goes on a loop of dark screen and countdown to install screen.
Really confused as to what I am doing wrong.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
P.s I have no USB sticks lying around (normally have 1000's)
