I have just installed 12.04 LTS along side 10.04 LTS and expected to get a
choice of which OS to select at boot....it immediately loads 12.04 LTS and
never gives me a choice...I did all the updates after install...what am I missing

So far I am impressed with 12.04 & everything seems to be working correctly,
but I am wondering why I don't get a choice at boot...

any help will be appreciated...

That's strange, but you can try to correct it. Install boot-repair: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Boot-Repair and choose Recommended repair. I hope this will solve your problem.
