View Full Version : [ubuntu] How to manual install ubuntu (root , boot , home , swap)

i have a netbook 1,33 ghz 1 gb ram and i tried installing ubuntu 12.04 and the result was a screen divided in two screens one purple and one tha was contaning the desktop but it was barely watchable . I asked my friend and told me to download 32 bits but i don't know where can i find them:lolflag:
furthermore i want someone to explain to me
1)during the ubuntu installation when you create partiotions what should be the type of its partition . example etx4,ext2
2)the size of its partition

for such config you may need to choose some light distro (forget 3D effects and heavy apps) like Lubuntu or Puppy, and of course only 32 bits.
