Precise, metacity, gnome classic (no effects),

Hi,
:( When I go to gconf -> apps "metacity" is not listed.
~/.gconf/apps does show metacity listed.

 Suggestions|clues|hints

:( Also, when logging on I select Gnome Classic (no effects), but the screen is Gnome Classic, so then I need to click on Menu->Metacity to get to it.

Suggestions|clues|hints

Thanks-in-advance :)

A lot of things have moved from gconf to dconf. Is anything here helpful at all:

What exactly are you trying to change?

My error :( I am using dconf(-tools).

Since you have asked :) I would like to change the background color of the Workspace applet.

In 12.04 Gnome3 classic (no effects) metacity I was also looking to change [workspace] names. Ah! Now I have discoverd simply right-click on the Workspace applet will bring up the [Properties] dialog, incl. changing workspace names.

Clueless

I think a lot of it now comes down to themes. I can usually come up with something to please most people using one of the Zukitwo themes:

I wish I had a better answer :(
