View Full Version : [ubuntu] Ubuntu Visual Effects Problem

So, I installed Ubuntu to dual boot along my Win7 shizzle. The specs are 1 gig dedicated Radeon graphics, 4 gig ram and basically everything that's needed for these visual effects. I went to additional drivers and saw there were a couple of drivers, one with post release updates. So, first I installed the original drivers, restarted the PC. Then, whenever I try to install the post release updates, it doesn't work. The card is AMD Radeon 6630M. Even though I enabled the effects in Compiz, nothing works. Help? I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.

Welcome to the forums, snajamahmed.

I was having a similar problem myself until I came across this thread. Hopefully this should clear things up for you: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1968458

All the best.

Generally, the Post-release drivers won't work -- don't know why Canonical will not remove them from the options.
