I got a .pps file (5.4MB) sent to me including images of the top 7 woman from Brazil. The show which I can only guess would take about 4 minutes in Windows took over 10 minutes to view. Whilst - due to the subject matter - I am not complaining, there definitely seems to be a growing concern that any file over 2megs seems to battle on LibreOffice as well as OOo. I have been using these for over a year now so this is a new issue.
My question is - are Microsoft making the files harder for us to read? Certain xlsx files don't open at all if they are over 2MB large.
The computers I have tried to open these on are:
Acer Travelmate 7320, 1.73 GHz - Ubuntu 10.4 Open Office 3.2
PC - Intel Quad Core - Ubuntu 12.4 Libre Office 3.
I also increased my memory requirement in options (didn't help)
I Had to fire up an old windows machine recently to view these excel documents. There must be another solution?
