Why the older pc requirement?

My AMD x6 with AMD 5800 graphics card shows the olympic flame animation as well.

And yeah it is cool.. or hot? :)

That's the point, AFAICT. It uses "technology" that newer hardware comfortably handles by sharing the load with the GPU. Older PCs may not have that option and may struggle.
