Unity Launcher themes

Hey,

I'm interested in customising the Unity Launcher, so is there a way to change the appearance of it? Could the launcher be completely flat and simple, without the somehow glossy shine and 3D-button-like look.

Hello and Welcome

There are currently no tweaks official or otherwise for accomplishing what you want to do. Unity 2D is less flashy and I'm happy to use 2D or 3D.

Edit: I should add that the CCSM , My Unity, and Ubuntu Tweak allow some control over launcher and panel transparency in Unity 3D.

I was away for few days. What a pity, it would have been cool if the launcher was more customisable.

Anyways, thanks for your help! I knew already about Unity 2D, and yes, it's better in some parts than 3D but there are things/objects etc. which I would like to have the 3D appearance. Good that you listed those programs – I'll give them a try.
