My Son, age 14, goes toa Montessori school that uses ENGRADE. He uses a System 76 Edubook running EDUBUNTU 12.04

His teacher is telling him that the homework assignments he is upoloading to ENGRADE are not readable. My Son is using LibreOffice and is turning his assigments in as docx, pptx, files.

Anyone else having same problem?

docx and co are problem formats and not really intended for interoperability. Which format(s) are actually required, either by the system or by the teacher? It's possible that other formats are required instead, perhaps even upgraded to the OpenDocument Format.

I would try saving the files as either .doc / .ppt (instead of .docx .pptx)

We use a similar program and it has issues with the .docx even when made in MS Word.

1. Do you receive any error messages when uploading the work?

2. Does ENGRADE tell you what types of files it accepts?

Seems more likely this is a problem with .docx file formats than ENGRADE.
Just ask the teacher what software they are using to read the homework.
I would actually suggest using LibreOffice PDF creation facility, and submit in that format. It works for documents and presentations (although the latter will not have animations). It completely removes the ambiguity of layout that exists with almost all other formats.
