authorization fails while update or installation

In my kubuntu 12.04 when I tried to install addition drivers a dialog box always apears " you are not authorized to install these packages".
This is happening for updating or installtion of other packagesm
Even superuser authorization box never comes up in kubuntu unlike in ubuntu.please guide how can I update or install packages?

I fixed this very quickly, by using synaptic and installing the package "polkit-kde-1 (0.99.0-3ubuntu5)" and reboot- problem solved for me instantly :)
