Low Sound in kubuntu 12.04

I have installed kubuntu 12.04 and i am loving it.this is my 1st kde distro.I have been using ubuntu always.

I have sound volume issue. In kubuntu 12.04 i am having very low sound.i never faced sound volume issue in ubuntu. whats wrong with KDE system.

can anyone plse help me to get to increase volume? my volume setting is showing max volume.

2 Things I can think of.
1st install pavucontrol & make sure all the sound sliders are at 100%.
2nd Go into system settings / Application and system notifications / player settings, and check the volume is at 100% there as well.
