I'm running a new install of 12.04 in a virtual box. The networking is fine, but when I try the network menu there's nothing listed. I can access the 'edit connections' item and the 'connection information' item, but not 'VPN'. Which is irritating because I want to set up a VPN to a remote machine. I've edited the connection information for the VPN but I can't connect to it because there's no menu item.
When I started there was a menu item for VPN, but of course no actual VPNs had been set up. But now that I've set one up the VPN item has gone from the network menu.
How do I connect to a VPN that I've set up.
