View Full Version : Best music player?

July 21st, 2012, 01:36 PM
I'm trying to choose between Clementine, Songbird and just regular old itunes on windows 7.

Itunes is my favorite because I'm used to it, but I'm thinking maybe i could work with all my music in Ubuntu as well, since it's garbage on Wine Hq. and I'd like it to sync my ipod but i can just stick to Windows 7 for that.

Thorough answers to suggestions would be nice.

VLC Media Player is one of the better option.

I like Clementine, I used it on 10.04 and now on 12.04 and it integrates seamlessly when replacing the default music player, it also does a good job of managing my extensive music collection and works well with my external audio devices.
It looks good too with built in ProjectM visualisations out of the box which I remember having difficulty getting working with any other music player.

Since you are looking for iTunes alternative and already tried Clementine and Songbird, have a look over Amarok, Banshee and Rhythmbox.

According to the thread name, my vote is for Clementine and Deadbeef as personal choice.

I like Rythmbox, Amarok is my favorite, though.
