Interesting.
I think if the grand aim of this all is to reduce the financial loss then they are going about it the wrong way. If anything this will just revert all those happily paying Spotify Premium users back to just downloading music - which was the reason Spotify emerged to begin with.

I'm glad this turned out to be untrue... If I had to get rid of my spotify then I would just start downloading music. There's so much free unsigned stuff out there that I could easily do without paying. It's just a bit difficult to find the good bands among all the rubbish ones.
