Ok, so I don't know why this is happening, coffee grounds keep ending up in my carafe when I make coffee, I am using one filter and definitely not too much coffee grounds. Could it be the type of filter I am using?!

Perhaps the filter is bending over and the grounds are splashing around it

What type of coffee maker do you have?

Use one of these (http://www.cuandoerachamo.com/wp-content/uploads/cafetera_italiana1.jpg). I use it at home and rarely have coffee grounds in my coffee (or maybe a few very fine grounds).

Maybe it has something to do with atmospheric pressure,
Or perhaps a anomaly in the space/time continuum.

Nah, it was just light from Venus reflected off some Swamp Gas...

That caused the reversal of gravity..

Or maybe Schroedinger's cat scratched it up...

Maybe your water has to much oxygen.

I see that the coffee maker has a "sneak a cup" feature. If you are getting a cup before the whole pot is complete and take too long, hot water continues to flow onto the grounds to the point that the filter overflows putting grounds into your coffee.

Never thought about that! I'll have to make a pot sometime and just let it sit and finish, however I think I may have done this before and still found grounds, but I will check again.

I just made a 6 cup pot in a Mr Coffee rig and I use heaping spoons and noticed a few grounds fall between the top cup and the filter so maybe thats where they get in, gota be more careful :P

Have you cleaned it recently? I used to run two potfuls of white vinegar through mine (one at a time, of course!), then a potful or two of plain water to rinse. Our water is kind of hard, so I would do this once a month or so.

I'm a french press user on the rare occasion I actually have coffee. I'm used to a little bit of sludge in the bottom of my cup. It's good for you, I promise.

Also a French press user; coffee without sludge at the bottom is not coffee - it's coffee-flavoured water!

My wire mesh filter clogs and overflows if coffee is too finely ground.

I found a bug about this on Launchpad and it is scheduled to be rectified in bean 3.7, at least in the Latte DE.

At this point, I quit, on the grounds of coffee seepage into the Ubuntu environment.):P
