Hi all,
I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 and then Ubuntu 12.04 (because of this problem (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2013754)). My problem is that grub did not install in the MBR (Windows starts automatically). I'm able to boot in Ubuntu using the Ultimate boot CD (http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/) and "Super Grub 2", which easily finds the grub config file on /dev/sda6.
So I tried the usual
sudo update-grub
sudo grub-install /dev/sda
but still nothing.
I saw several threads about the same subject but they were quite complex cases, whereas I don't see anything special in my config?
and it's not the first time I install an Ubuntu with this kind of config. am I missing something stupid?
Also don't know if that matters but I did the installation using a USB drive (I checked that my hard drive was /dev/sda, anyway that should have worked the second time at least).
