ubuntu desktop on netbook

When I installed Ubuntu 12.74 LTS, it never gave me the option to load ubuntu for netbook - as I have seen in many tutorials. So I went ahead with the desktop ubuntu. All is working okay but wondering if things would be faster if I could get that netbook version - or does it really make that much difference? Any link I followed to get the netbook version, just takes me to the Desktop Install. Right now I am dual booting tween Win7 and Ubuntu.

There's no longer a version specifically for netbooks.
