Greetings,

As it will quickly become apparent, I'm new to Linux.

I just received my new machine and it has 16GB or RAM with a 32GB SSD and a 500GB HDD. I would like to use the SSD for the operating system and the HDD for file storage and swap (maybe?). So my question is how should I parttion the drives?

The end goal is to run VMWorkstation and use the HDD to hold the images.

Thanks!

At the partitioning stage, select the last option called "something else" (basically, the manual option). Create the root partition on the ssd (32GB) and the home partition on the hdd (500GB or something else).
