This may be a duplicate issue, but none of the other "hard freeze" issues have exactly the same symptoms as this one does. I would appreciate any help or comments received. I am also interested in finding out if any other Dell Inspiron 530 users have had this problem.

This is yet another case of a hard freeze which started happening after upgrading to Ubuntu 12.04. The freeze usually happens when using Firefox to access something like a Youtube video. Though this is not always the case.

The Desktop is a Dell Inspiron 530 and I will attach an ishw output which gives all the hardware specifications.

Anyone out there want to comment on this?
Is there another forum where this should be posted?

I am going to close this issue and open another one in the hardware forum.

Hi Rich

I've tried every way of east of Sunday to get 12.04 to install to no avail.

The one and only Ubuntu release that ever worked right was 8.04!

We have 10.04 on two of our eight computers, and even it only works properly on one of them. The other computer is a major headache with tons of problems in 10.04 and so far, nothing suggested has ever helped it.

Heck, can't even get these forums to work right half the time either!
Waiting for this to post for 15 minutes so far, nada.....

TTUL
