software problem..

Previously I have 10.04 ubuntu operating system on my laptop, then some of our office software provided to us installed by me and those were properly working..Thereafter I upgraded the operating systme with Ubuntu 12.04, and now those our office software are not properly working.. which showing following problem:-
a) java.sql.SQLException:Acess denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password:NO).... OK
Then I pressed 'ok' button then shown line as follows:-
b) java.lang.NullPointerException..... OK

Thereupon pressing 'ok' button software opened but it appears blank..
Please help me to solve this problem.. I will grateful to you..
