View Full Version : Altering the GUI

Hello all!

So here is my situation/question:

User A logins in. Later on, user A switches to user B. When B tries to shutdown the system only logs out, due to the fact that A is still logged in. This is all done through the GUI.

What I would like to do is reprogram the GUI shutdown sequence to check for users still logged in (other than the current user), and provide the user with the option to shutdown and log off all other users, or just log out.

So my question is how do I go about doing that? Do I go directly to the source code, or can I change some existing code (preference file, configuration file, etc) on my currently installed system? If I do have to change the source code, how can I test the change? Do I need to recompile the entire operating system on a separate machine, or can I just reincorporate parts in my currently installed operating system?
