I Bought a two month old i5 2500K and the ASUS Maximus V Gene Motherboard to go with it for$230. Did I make a good deal? I know they're used but only for two months? And the person is a close friend, so I trust him/quality of goods.

Sandy or Ivy bridge?

Also, if you handy with a heat sink and fan, you can OC that rig to an easy 4.2-4.3 gHZ

You got a very good price from your friend, you should thank him. New that kit is about $430 so you saved around $200. Great deal, second hand or not ;)

Sandy Bridge. You don't get a 2500K Ivy Bridge. All desktop & mobile Ivy Bridge CPUs have 3xxx model numbers.

It's a good processor so you should be chuffed.

I've got a 2500k running at 4.6; they're excellent chips.
