I use a dial-up modem to connect to the internet. It works ok for surfing the web, but the system doesn't understand that it is a network connection, and I can't do updates and install software (unless I use apt-get). Is there a way that I can configure it so that the system will see it as a network connection? Currently the system looks only to my ethernet and Wi-Fi adapters for a network connection. Can I configure it to also look at ttyACM0? I am convinced that there must be a file listing my network devices.
