View Full Version : [kubuntu] Backtick key is not working as a shortcut for Yakuake

At work, running Kubuntu 11.10, I have the backtick key (UK keyboard, key directly below Escape and to the left of 1) as the global shortcut for Yakuake. This is the same key used in most FPS games, like Quake.

However, at home, on Kubuntu 12.04, this does not work, either on my desktop or my laptop. Instead, when I try to assign the backtick key, I get this weird symbol appearing. At work, the shortcut "button" says "dead_grave" on it, but at home, I get the attached symbol.

I don't really know much about keyboard layout maps and whatnot, but would really like to get my home/work environments to be the same. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks,

- Nils
