I just upgraded from 11.04 to 12.04. On 11.04, I was able to customize the way everything looked...buttons clicked to close/minimize windows, colors, icons, etc. Now when I open the appearance preferences, I don't see the option to customize, but only to choose from a small list of premade themes.

Is there any way to customize the appearance again? Was this option trashed by the developers? Can I install something to make it work again?

Install the Gnome Tweak Tool also . Appearance preferences as they were in Gnome 2(11.04) have been removed by Gnome. I think the link above describes 11.04. Gnome 3 Themes . http://gnome-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=167
