I really don't know how to describe this problem well, so please forgive me and direct me on the information needed.

I have two monitors, one external via vga on my laptop. When I go fullscreen in youtube, hulu, etc. . ., it will become fullscreen in whichever screen it is in when told to be fullscreen, but it still includes the other monitor, as though it is one monitor, causing the image to be shifted to the left or right witha bunch of black space to either side. I'll post a couple pictures.

I have not had this problem in Unity or GNOME 3, so I'm not sure what happened differently in KDE4.

Adobe has discontinued development of flash player for linux so google chrome are developing their own version which currently is quite buggy (at least I find it so and have read a few reports like yours etc). A temporary solution for your problem is probably to disable chrome's new flash player and fall back to the original version. Go to chrome://plugins and disable the pepperflash (PPAPI) version. This is not a long term solution of course. Just check that plugins page occassionally and try the pepper version when it updates.
