HI everyone,
I had been using setpci code to set default brightness on my acer emachines laptop to a visible amount during booting. To change brightness at this point,I would run a program that I wrote to change it. the function keys did not work with the directional buttons.
Later I discovered on the net that replacing the vendor string in grub solved the problem. However, the problem is that now while the fn keys plus directional keys work to toggle the brightness, it si such that they are inverted such that the key that would normally work to increase brightness under windows functions to decrease it and vice versa.
I have found that gnome keybindings can be altered from my home folder but then everything exists there except the bindings for brightness that I need to replace.
Could anyone point me to where the bindings could be altered?
Ps. also tried checking under org.freedesktop but didn't see much. however learnt more about notify-osd and d-bus. :popcorn:
