If you're English "Mos-coh"

Merriam-Webster says (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/moscow) both are possible.

You don't hear Mos-cow in England. You'll only ever hear Mos-coe.

Only place I've heard it pronounced as 'cow' is US tv so it could be something local to the US but no way of knowing for sure.

I'm used to hearing mos-coh/coe locally and from some other English (Queen's) countries.

Interesting. Around here most people say Mos-cow, but I usually say Mos-coe. I see it's pretty much evenly divided.

And for the record, I wasn't asking how to pronounce Moskva. ;)

Mos-coe is the only English speaking pronunciation that makes any sense. I've heard people pronounce it Mos-cow but it sounds very wrong to me.

Having been a short wave listener in years gone by, I'm sure the English service of Radio Moscow announced themselves as Radio Mos-coe rather then Radio Mosc-cow. Or may be that was the European Service rather than the North American Service.

Varies by region I reckon. Every time I see the name Arkansas I pronounce it as such (Like Dorothy from Kansas) and only afterwards do I remember that people from the US say Arkinsaw...

Yeah, those Native Americans have some weird spellings and pronunciations. My favorite is how "Mackinac" is pronounced "Mackinaw".

Well, in the midwest, and any other place I've heard/said it (East coast, South) I've heard Moss-cow

I was confused by all this talk of moss cows, so I went in search of one.
