My computer dual boots Ubuntu and Win7
I used BitDefender AntiVirus Scanner for Unices to scan my Win7 partition which I know was infected.
It detected nothing, although I had just updated.
Then I booted into Windows and scanned with Kaspersky.
It found the malware.
Why didn't BitDefender work? Doesn't it detect Windows malware?

Does BitDefender detect only viruses, or viruses and malware?

According to the site, viruses and spyware.
Oh well, that answers it I guess, thanks. I didn't read that part. :P
What's the best anti malware now? (I know this has been asked thousands of times, just wondering if anything's new)
I tried ClamAV but as it's command line, I had no idea how to use it.
Avast doesn't mention malware, only viruses.
Avira "removes adware, rootkits and other malware."
Should I try Avira?

I've got a new problem :
I decided to give BitDefender another go.
So I installed it, updated fine, and then tried running the scanner.
But now everytime it loads the antivirus engine, it just crashes.
Closes without warning or errors.
I know it worked for me in the past.

My experience with AV software is rather limited, but I use MS Security Essentials on my home Windows machine; I don't use anything on my Linux installs.

I have used Kaspersky before, and that was a pretty decent.
