Hi,

Hope I got the title right.

I'm looking for Italian food recipes cooked the traditional Italian way like your mother makes it and not the stuff we get fed in local restaurants.

Would some of you Italian folk be so kind as to post some of your mothers recipes here. Please try and translate into english and provide temperatures and cooking instructions.

Also feel free to mail/pm me if you want.

I would be gratefull for any assistance with the above.

Might wonder why ? Well when I was younger I stayed at friends place for a weekend and his parents were Italian immmigrants. The food I ate that weekend was some of the best I ever ate in my life and I would like to eat more of it.

Thanks
mips

Yes, I do understand but please don't cook your mother (unless you're a cannibal) :p

Are those recipes the real thing or internationalised versions of your food ?
Would you use those recipes yourself ?

Just wondering if it is the real thing. Is'nt Deborah Mele american ?

I don't know if she's American but I know someone whose surname is Mele here in Lecce.

And this recipe (spaghetti alla carbonara) is quite famous (especially in Rome) and tasty:

BTW in Italy both "Debora" and "Deborah" exist as names. And "Mele" is an Italian surname.
