Hello,

I need boost 1.49 and I see my Ubuntu installation only has 1.46:

$ dpkg --get-selection | grep boostI just downloaded boost 1.49 and installed it using the commands:

$ ./bootstrap.sh
$ ./b2
$ sudo ./b2 install
are there any bad consequences / side effects I might have gotten into by following this path for upgrading boost? I just preferred to avoid any custom PPA that would screw up my complete installation by pulling weird updates.

Many TIA,
Best regards,
Giovanni
