Hello,

After taking the latest updates this morning, my Ubuntu 11.10 installation won't boot anymore. I see the Ubuntu logo on boot but stays so indefinitely.

How can I fix this? besides that I would really really like to have a stable system. I am developing a C++ project using Intel MKL, Intel compiler and in the last few days ~22.06 took Ubuntu updates that lead to many stability issues e.g. non-converging algorithm etc. What shall I do to restrict updates to take only the stable ones and avoid having a broken system every second day or so?

Many TIA,
Best regards,
Giovanni

Did you get a solution to this issue. I just installed a bunch of updates and now I can't boot my computer. I get stuck at the Ubuntu loading screen with 5 orange dots.

Can you select "Recovery mode" from the GRUB menu?
