after re-installing 12.04 today I've been re-installing software, and installed dropbox through the software center only to find that it crashed when it got to applying changes. I couldn't then stop the process and had to reboot, only to find that when I restarted software center some bizarre "searching" process came up in the process tab of software center and just went on and on, so I presumed this had crashed too. Trying to cancel it only seemed to continue the problem. Now even after reboot the software center is canceling the searching process. I can't install or remove any more applications due to this process. Any ideas?
