The major upgrade manager action yesterday was not able to complete the upgrade of Libreoffice. There's an "X" box now in my panel.

Got "E: /var/cache/apt/archives/libreoffice-common_1%3a3.5.4-0ubuntu1_all.deb: corrupted filesystem tarfile - corrupted package archive"

From there, I tried all manner of things with Synaptic and the Software Center to try to fix broken packages, all to no avail.

How do I start over and get a clean install of Libreoffice?

Fixed it using the command line and synaptic, by removing the corrupted packages.
