Syncing Ipod Nano 6G with RhythmBox

Hi there. I just got ubuntu, and I'm really loving it so far! The only problem I am having is with my iPod Nano 6th Gen. Whenever I sync it through Rhythmbox, 80% of the songs won't play, and get skipped. Others will play for a minute or two then cut out. I think this could get fixed with a format of the ipod, but I do not know how to do that on rhythmbox.
