Hi!

Has anyone actually installed 12.04 on a bricked Samsung phone?

Mine is bricked and I would like to do something with it besides a paperweight!

Any one?

Any direction?

Thanks!

You might try the android forums (at AndroidCentral). For each of the specific phone models, they have individual forums -- and many of them deal with rooting the phone and other such techincal details.

Hi!

I've searched and searched.

I guess I'm looking for a simple download and install.

Wouldn't that be nice?

There's a thread on xda about installing ubuntu on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (which I've not pursued) and probably others for other particular phone - the phones vary enough it'd need to be phone specific.

However if you can install ubuntu you can probably reinstall stock android or a custom android rom for your specific phone and unbrick it...

Hi!

It's a sammy 679....exhibit 2 4g.

I'd be willing to sacrifice it to try to load 12.04.
