Hey folks.
The issue is the USB ports on my Dell SP2208WFP monitor. I have done some searching around and found a few people with webcam issues, though with previous versions of Ubuntu (8.x or 9.x). The kicker is when I used lsusb in the terminal all the ports and the associated devices showed up...but the only device that's actually working is my WLAN receiver. Silly!
Other pertinants:
I just started using Linux
I'm dualbooting 12.04 64 bit with my Windows 7 64 bit computer.
The USB ports work fine in Windows.
The devices work fine when plugged into an port on the tower.
