VLC Media player is all set to invade Android devices soon. VideoLAN’s official Twitter account said, Android, there they come! No word on when they can expect the Swiss-army knife of media players, but get those video files ready.

As per its earlier format in which it could support almost all types of file the desktops for years it will similarly play almost all audio and video files flawlessly.

Earlier, VLC media player was available for Androids unofficially and became one of the most popular player apps there in short span of time. But now developers have managed to bring the same player to Android operating system platform. As per reports, official version of the player will be unveiled soon and users have to no longer wait for it.

The official VLC player developers have hinted that work on the official app for the Android platform is underway. But no estimated dates have been shared by the developers. Though the Android 4.0 ICS brings support for variety of new video formats and containers but VLC app for Mobile Phones is eagerly awaited.

Till now, enthusiast developers have tried to bring the popular VLC media player for the Android player through their independent efforts but this step will take their effort to the next level.
